My interest with this topic goes beyond fitness, it is a way of life for me!.  It's a passion that leads to improved  well- being. I strive for gaining the knowledge to be able to control/improve my health and fitness level.   Regular physical activity prevents chronic health conditions and promotes weight maintenance. Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you feeling happier and help you want to exercise regularly, which can boost your confidence and improve your self-esteem.  There are some common issues people have while trying to monitor and/or improve their health and fitness.  Most of these issues center around working out, eating right and stress reduction.   To learn more ways stay fit click on staying fit

BE SURE TO ALWAYS STRETCH BEFORE AND AFTER YOUR WORKOUT!!!!!!

Most of these issues center around working out and eating right !

  • Working out itself is what people sometimes struggle with due to a health, injury, or time limitations.
  • Eating a balanced and nutritious diet as well as getting enough water to drink.
  • Taking care of yourself.

Work out anyway anywhere!

Working out is really not so hard when you do things to liven it up, improve, or intensify your workouts.  I am really big on listening to music while working out.  Good music will totally improve your mood while working out. When you follow the beat of the music,  allow it to totally take over your workout and move your body in  ways you never thought you could do.  To view a really cool web site focused on music and working out check out hellasound.

Be creative and open to different workouts!

If you are struggling with working out due to an injury or a health problem then you need to consult with your physician before any strenuous activity.  Here are a few facts that can help you improve you comfort during working outs.

  • Swimming is a great cardiovascular sport for toning the body without the strain on your back, knees, hips-whatever ales you.  Swimming will also increases you lung capacity faster then your average cardiovascular workout.
  • You want to vary your workouts by going to different machines that you are comfortable with, relieving the stress from painful pressure points.

Adding variety to your daily routine and workout routine adds up and allows you to expand your knowledge, thoughts, and feelings towards working out. Push your kids on the swings or climb with them on the jungle gym. Plan a neighborhood kickball or touch football game. Find a physical activity you enjoy, and go for it. If you get bored, try something new. If you're moving, it counts!  Walking your dog for 20 minutes is a good easy way to burn calories (100 calories for a 150lb person). Doing simple things such as standing instead of sitting will burn twice the amount of calories.   If you often use an elevator try the stairs if that is an option. Getting enough sleep and taking care of yourself works as an advantage for keeping yourself in good health.  Those who sleep less than 8 hours a night have a 65% increase risk of being overweight, if you can get at least 8 hours of sleep at night. So there are lots of simple activities you can do to introduce your body to physical fitness and keep in shape.  I currently practice my fitness with a program called P90X.  This is a very intense workout and is totally focused on CORE( back, abdominal muscles, and glutinous maximus) fitness.  To learn more about P90X/Insanity workouts and CORE fitness watch the two videos to the left.

Eating right and drinking water

Food provides your body with necessary energy. To make the most of your workouts, focus on these foods. Carbohydrates: Your body's chief source of fuel.  Protein and fats: Important, but not your body's top fuel choice.  Good protein sources include: nuts, dairy products, meatTry to get most of your fat from unsaturated fat sources such as: fatty fish and vegetable oils.  Drinking water is very important as well, you must provide your body plenty of water.  Your body uses the water in your blood to carry nutrients such as sugar (glucose) to cells and to remove waste products (such as fat) from the cells. The presence of water in your body ensures that you can safely sustain physical activity. As you exercise, your body produces heat. This heat leaves your body as you perspire, taking with it electrolytes — elements, such as potassium, calcium, sodium and chloride. If you don't replace the fluid you lose during exercise, your heart rate increases and your temperature rises, putting you at risk of dehydration as well as compromising your workout. To learn more about the importance of drinking water click on H2O.  Staying in good shape is not just about what you eat but when you eat.  Timing your meals or snaks right will maximize your workout.  So cooridnate your food and drink intake to make the most out of your workout.
